We met in a theatre history class but didn't actually speak for several months; our professor packed her lecture slides so there was no time to flirt or you'd lose a page of notes. Finally we had some real life human interaction, and one late night at Pita Pit (RIP) we looked at each other and said, "So this is a thing, right?"
Over the last nine years, we moved in together, adopted two cats, co-wrote a web series, celebrated many loved ones' joys, mourned elders and friends, toasted successes, learned from failures, traveled, quarantined, auditioned, gardened, touched some ocean, and loved more deeply.
In May of 2021, back at home after a casual 8-year anniversary morning at the railyards market, Caroline got on one knee, gifted Stafford a vintage Scottish lapel pin, and asked him to make them "the happiest little trash goblin in the world." He said yes, and shed many tears, which was deeply concerning to our cat Blue who sat on his lap and purred as loud as possible to make him feel better.
And now we're here! And now you're here! And now we're all here! We are so glad to see you!
