When neither of us were looking for love, or even a relationship for that matter, fate had other plans and we met during a brief passing in my hometown of Worthington, MN. Funny thing is that I always said, "I would never marry a man from Worthington," but I guess I never said that I wouldn't meet one there, ha! At that time, we were just two people with lots in common who lived over a 100 miles apart. Months later, we met for lunch and those two people became good friends. In July 2019--after following each other around our entire adult lives, from St. Cloud where we both went to college, to St. Peter where we both lived for a short time, to Mankato where we both lived for several years before I moved back to the St. Cloud area--I decided to uproot and return to the Mankato area knowing this is where I belonged. We bought a house together and joined our families in December 2019, knowing then that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.
and I promised you that I would find you, somewhere on the other side. Or maybe you've always been in my subconscious, nudging me this way or pulling me that way until I found you. I don't know, I do know I've felt you more than one life should allow - JM Storm
Justin pulled off the surprise of a lifetime on a random Monday night. He said he had a gift for me in the garage, but that it needed some "assembly." Luckily my oldest daughter unknowingly started texting me about attire for our upcoming family pictures. I then received a phone call from Justin asking me to help him. To my surprise, with flowers in hand, in suit and tie, and our favorite song playing, Justin asked me to dance under the lights he strung up in our garage...and then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him exactly 2 years to the day after our first meeting.
