Travel Note
Hi everyone, We’re excited to share a few updates as we get closer to the wedding weekend and continue planning what should be a really fun few days together. We know many of you are still finalizing plans, and we truly appreciate how thoughtful everyone has been throughout this process. Welcome Party Update We’re happy to share that our Welcome Party will now be held at our resort: Villa La Estancia Beach Resort & Spa (Nuevo Nayarit) 📅 Thursday, March 12 ⏰ 5:00–7:00 PM This will be a relaxed cocktail-style gathering (drinks provided)—a chance for everyone to connect, settle in, and kick off the weekend together without needing to travel outside the resort area. Dinner Plans for Thursday Evening After the welcome event, we will be having dinner at Karen's Place in Bucerías with immediate family members. For everyone else, we highly recommend making dinner plans with your group that evening. There are several great options nearby: Restaurants within Villa La Estancia and the neighboring Villa del Palmar Flamingos Beach Resort & Spa (same ownership group) Cuisine options across both resorts include Mexican, Japanese, Italian/pizza, and American fusion Guests with all-inclusive access can dine at restaurants across both properties You’re also welcome to explore Bucerías, where our wedding venue is located. The Zona Dorada near Playa Bucerías has a great mix of local restaurants and bars and is about a 10-15 minute Uber ride from the resort. A Quick Note on Travel & Recent News We know there has been a lot of information circulating over the past couple of weeks, and in some cases, it has understandably felt overwhelming. Based on official guidance, reputable reporting, and what we’re hearing directly from our local team, there have been no new incidents in the Puerto Vallarta area since the initial events. Airport operations and travel conditions returned to normal within a few days. Continued below...

We also recognize that some of the early coverage and social media content made the situation appear more widespread than what has been reflected in official updates. If you’ve come across anything that’s raised concerns, please feel free to reach out—we’re more than happy to help share the sources we’ve been relying on, including U.S. State Department guidance. As always, we recommend that everyone take any safety precautions you would normally consider for Mexico and in general while traveling abroad. Final Notes We know most guests are staying at the resort, but if you’re staying elsewhere, feel free to reach out and let us know where you’ll be—we’re happy to help with any logistics or questions. More than anything, we’re just really looking forward to spending time together and celebrating with everyone who is able to join us. We completely understand that this has been a difficult personal decision for many, and we’re incredibly grateful for the thought and care everyone has put into it. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions at all—we’re always here. With love, Alex & Stacy

Hi everyone, We wanted to share a more detailed update as promised. We know many of you are actively making travel decisions right now, and we completely understand that this may feel stressful or uncertain. Please know that we are thinking carefully about everyone’s safety and comfort, and we truly support whatever decision feels right for you and your family. Over the past several days, we’ve been closely monitoring official State Department guidance, reputable news coverage, and maintaining regular communication with our local planner, venue team, and transportation partners. Based on the most recent information available, conditions in the Puerto Vallarta area have stabilized following the incidents earlier this week. Airports are operating normally, flights have resumed regular schedules as of yesterday, and there have been no new reported disruptions in the Puerto Vallarta / Riviera Nayarit area since Sunday. Local businesses, government buildings, schools, and hospitals are all operating normally today. We will continue to monitor Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR) closely given that all guests will transit through there. We also want to provide important context around travel advisories. The U.S. State Department currently lists: Jalisco (Puerto Vallarta): Level 3 – Reconsider Travel Nayarit (Nuevo Nayarit/Bucerías): Level 2 – Exercise Increased Caution Importantly, these advisory levels reflect the longtime norm in Mexico and have been in place for these States since August 2025 - they have not changed as a result of the recent events. While these advisories reflect broader regional conditions, they do not represent a newly elevated threat specific to this week. Additionally, U.S. government guidance continues to indicate there are no special travel restrictions for official personnel in the Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit resort areas, which is where all of our events and accommodations are located. To also help clarify geography: guests will fly into PVR (Jalisco), but all of our wedding events and hotel stays are located in Nuevo Nayarit and Bucerías (Nayarit)—resort areas just north of the airport. The 25 min route between the airport and resort area do not cross the city of Puerto Vallarta, instead it goes in the opposite direction into the State of Nayarit. Our plan is to keep all wedding-related activities within this resort corridor. As part of that commitment, we have made the decision to cancel our original Welcome Party in downtown Puerto Vallarta. We are securing a new welcome event option within the resort/Nayarit area so that no organized group travel into Puerto Vallarta will be necessary at any point during the weekend. In addition, we are: Coordinating daily with our planner, venue, and transportation partners Monitoring official travel alerts and reputable news coverage closely Prepared to adjust plans quickly if conditions meaningfully change For guests who plan to attend, we encourage enrolling in the U.S. State Department’s STEP (Smart Traveler Enrollment Program) for real-time alerts and guidance (takes 10 minutes). For best results, make sure you opt into notifications from the US Embassy in Guadalajara, Jalisco - the closest and most relevant embassy for Puerto Vallarta. The link to register can be found here: https://mytravel.state.gov/s/step Additionally, here are links to charter highly rated private transportation that can be reserved between PVR and your hotel if Uber does not feel comfortable: https://www.discoverpvr.com/ https://aerotpv.com/ Continued below...

We will continue to update this page as our single source of truth and will share another update by early next week, or sooner if anything materially changes. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any additional questions or concerns. Most importantly, we want to say this clearly: your safety and peace of mind matter more to us than any single day or event. While we are hopeful and excited to celebrate together, we also understand the weight of the decision many of you are making. Whatever you choose, please know that our love and gratitude for you does not change. Thank you for walking through this with us, supporting us, and for asking thoughtful questions. Although this week has been unexpected to say the least, we feel more confident than ever that we can take on any challenge together. With love, Alex & Stacy
Flight
You’ll fly into Puerto Vallarta’s main airport, PVR, which is also called Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport. Customs is usually efficient, but March is high season, so please allow a bit of extra time—and don’t forget your valid passport! Once you’re outside the airport, Ubers and taxis are readily available, and if you’re renting a car, most rental agencies are offsite and can be reached by shuttle from the terminal.
Hotel
We’ve reserved a room block at this hotel under the code “aswedding”. Room options include Deluxe Studios and One-Bedroom Suites, with an additional all-inclusive option available if you’d like to add meals and drinks. Please note that the room block has limited availability, but the hotel may still have other standard rooms and rates available once the block is full. If you’re planning to stay here, we recommend booking sooner rather than later, as March is high season in Puerto Vallarta and rooms do book up quickly.

Travel Note
You are absolutely free to stay wherever feels best for your trip! We’ll be staying at Villa La Estancia during the wedding festivities, but it’s definitely not required—there are lots of wonderful hotels, resorts, and Airbnbs in the area. Hotels & Resorts We recommend looking in the Flamingos or Nuevo Nayarit area. These neighborhoods are conveniently located near both our hotel and the wedding venue in Bucerías, which makes getting to and from events much easier. Airbnb / VRBO There are plenty of great rental options in both Puerto Vallarta and Bucerías. Just a heads-up: many places in Puerto Vallarta can be about 30+ minutes to our hotel and around 45+ minutes to the wedding venue, depending on traffic. Transportation & Shuttles We’ll be providing shuttle service between our hotel (Villa La Estancia) and the wedding venue, so if you’re deciding between areas, staying closer to Villa La Estancia will make things more convenient. There are usually plenty of Ubers and taxis in Puerto Vallarta and the Nuevo Nayarit resort area, but they may be more limited right by the venue late at night if you choose to skip the shuttle after the wedding.
