Our engagement wasn’t a single big moment—it was a conversation that unfolded over time. Stacey told Ryan she wanted to be married and we had talked about making a commitment to one another for months before shopping for rings together. Stacey’s ring is a vintage ametrine gemstone, a unique blend of amethyst and citrine. We later realized— that the gemstone includes both of our birthstones, which makes it extra special. Ryan’s ring carries its own deep meaning—it was made from the gold of Stacey’s mother’s ring, a piece from her parents’ partnership, repurposed to mark the start of ours. One day, The Miner's Den texted that Stacey's ring was ready, while Ryan's had been recasted and finished for weeks. Stacey was at work, and Ryan went to pick it up, sending pictures from his car. When she got home that night, she said, “Let me see that ring!” And that was it—we’ve worn them ever since, a quiet but powerful symbol of our shared commitment.
On July 27, 2025, we will exchange private vows at the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory on Belle Isle, with Ryan’s father, Ernie Fox, officiating. We chose to keep this moment intimate so we can be fully present with one another, focusing on our commitment and the experience of our day together. Our shared celebration with family + friends is August 31, 2025 in Ferndale.
