Stacey and Rodney (Rock) both hail from the same area in rural North Carolina and because of this, they shared mutual friends and often crossed paths. However, they didn't formally meet until one weekend when Stacey, who attended Howard University, was home for a visit. The two felt an instant connection and quickly developed a strong friendship, spending hours on the phone talking everyday- even when "long distance" calls were a thing. However, life happened and Stacey and Rock drifted apart. Fast forward to August 2011: During her daily devotional time, Stacey prayed a specific prayer asking God for a life partner that would love her unconditionally and forever. God is so awesome that the VERY NEXT DAY, Stacey received a Facebook message from Rock letting her know that he had recently relocated to Maryland. Wasting no time, they exchanged numbers and met up that very afternoon and the rest is history. Stacey and Rock are deeply grateful that God brought them back together at just the right moment. Though they faced some growing pains, they learned to navigate their relationship with grace, and their love for each other only deepened along the way.
