FAQs

Question

What is this "environmental sanitation" fee on my room bill?

Answer

All resorts in the Cancun area charge 20 pesos (approx $1 US) a night per room for their governmental tax to help environment issues like cleaning the seaweed from their beaches.

Question

When do the bars close?

Answer

Most of the bars close at 11pm but the Beach Bar and Las Guacamayas close at 1am. All the swim up bars close at 5pm.

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

Unfortunately, El Dorado Royale & El Dorado Casitas Royale is adults only (where most guests are staying) but Generations is kid friendly and offers babysitting options if you want to hang out on the El Dorado side. All 3 resorts are on the same property so adults can use facilities in all 3.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire for the wedding. We will not be getting married on the sand so shoes are required. Most of the restaurants also have a dresscode. Ladies: dresses, skirts, long pants, shoes, capri pants, elegant sandals. Gentleman: long pants, collared shirts, casual shoes. Not permitted: baseball caps, tanktops, flipflops, sleeveless shirts (men), sport shorts.

Question

Is there an ATM at the resort?

Answer

There is, but there's a $6 fee PLUS a 6.95% fee for dispensing US dollars (some machines don't immediately convert to pesos) so we recommend you bring cash. The resort is all inclusive and you can use your credit card for extra charges but having small bills in cash is helpful to tip the staff. (They accept US $.)

Question

What time is check in?

Answer

Check in starts at 3 but if you arrive earlier, just reach out to us and you can either leave your stuff with the front desk or leave anything in our room till your room is ready.

Question

Is there a shuttle from the rooms to the wedding?

Answer

There are timed shuttles that go across the whole property to all 3 resorts (El Dorado Royale, El Dorado Casitas Royale, and Generations). However, you can tell your personal concierge to find you a shuttle as well. The wedding itself will take place on the Generations side (border of Casitas and Generations).

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes, you need a passport to enter Mexico. Passports must be valid up to 6 months after your planned travel date. Applying for a passport can take up to 6 to 8 weeks. Please check your expiration date and renew/apply as needed.

Question

Can I stay at a different resort?

Answer

If you do, you must pay a $105 fee for a day pass per day to come to the property.

Question

Could I just stay one night at the resort?

Answer

No, there is a minimum 3 night stay required.

Question

Which days are the hotel rooms blocked off for?

Answer

Wednesday to Sunday. If you plan on extending your stay out of the room block, please speak to Tina ASAP to see if she can accommodate those dates.

Question

Where can I get COVID testing?

Answer

The resort is offering COVID testing on site for $25 to have proof to travel back. You can make an appointment when you arrive.

For all the days along the way
