If you live in Massachusetts or the Rhode Island area, Azores Airlines is the primary airline carrier flying directly out of Logan Airport. You can book flights online, at the Azores Airlines office, or your local AAA branch. Outside of the Massachusetts/Rhode Island area, you can book a direct flight (seasonal) to São Miguel via United from New Jersey's Newark Liberty Airport.

GREEN ISLAND Rent a Car - S. Miguel / APT

Ilha Verde Rent A Car is located inside Joao Paulo II Airport. You will hit the luggage carousel first and then the car rental desks. The car rental lots are marked based on your provider, and all lots are off to the right, within walking distance to the arrival pick-up area. There is a lot in front of the arrival/departure area where you can load/ unload your car. The first 10 minutes are free. After that, you will have to head inside the airport to pay to leave the lot. Before getting into your rental car, take a video or photos of ALL imperfections on your rental car BEFORE driving off the rental lot. Keep the video/photos with you when you go to drop off.
