Where is Cuckney House?

Cuckney House is a Grade II listed Georgian manor tucked away in the heart of Sherwood Forest, on the Welbeck Estate — about ten minutes from where we live. The estate is one of the historic country estates of North Nottinghamshire, surrounded by forests, lakes, and rolling hills. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place and feels very us. Where should we stay?

Answer

We'd love you to make a trip of it and explore where we call home! There are plenty of lovely places to stay including hotels, B&Bs and holiday home accommodation super close to Cuckney House, you can find our recommendations on the Travel page.

What time should we arrive on the wedding day?

Answer

Please arrive from 2pm — the ceremony starts at 3pm.

The band will play late into the night, stay as long as you’re having fun!

What’s the food & drinks situation?

Answer

We’ll be serving wood-fired pizzas from Sherwood Fired through the afternoon and early evening, with plenty of vegan options in the mix. Later on, there’ll be some evening snacks for anyone still dancing (or just a bit munchy). A mobile bar will be open all day and night, serving local beers, wines, spirits, and soft drinks. They take card, though bringing a bit of cash is advised in case the WiFi has a wobble.

Yes, there’s plenty of on-site parking at Cuckney House.

If you think you might need a taxi at any point, you’re very welcome to book directly. It’s probably worth doing so in advance as the venue is a bit out in the countryside. Alternatively, if you’d like us to help coordinate lifts with others heading in a similar direction, just let us know and remind us where you’re staying. What’s happening the next day?

We’re hosting BBQ & Bubbles on Wednesday for anyone still around — a relaxed day with food, hot tubs, and garden games.

Should I bring anything?

Answer

Bring your swimwear and a towel if you fancy a dip in the hot tubs on Wednesday. Maybe some comfy shoes for garden games and dancing too!

Can we buy you a toaster?

After 16 years together, we’ve collected quite enough “stuff”! Your presence is all we could ask for, but if you were thinking of giving a gift, a contribution towards enjoying a few more experiences together as we start our next chapter would be very much appreciated.
