How to get to Israel and the best places to stay!

Flight

Ben Gurion Airport

We highly recommend if you are flying from abroad, to book early and if possible to book with ELAL, or Ethiopian Airlines if you are flying from South Africa. These are the two most likely airlines not to cancel last minute.

Travel Note

Taxi, Train & Bus Information

Taxis: If you want to take a taxi from the airport you need to download the app, Gett. You can connect your credit card or if you prefer to use cash, then make sure before you confirm the ride, to change the payment method to cash. When taking a taxi from the airport, make sure to scan the QR code when you are outside arrivals by the taxi line. This then takes you to the Gett app to order your taxi. On the app you can then select your pick up and drop off point, it then provides you a code which you give to the driver. Make sure you are in the official taxi line. DO NOT accept a ride from any driver that comes into the airport asking if you need a taxi, they will overcharge you and are not on the official taxi list. You can also use the Gett app around Israel, just always make sure they use the meter and don't accept a ride where the driver just says a random price. Buses and Trains: If you want to take the buses or trains in or outside Tel Aviv, download the app, Moovit. Make sure to connect your credit card so you can use the app to pay for buses and trains. No cash is accepted on buses so if you prefer not to add your credit card to the Moovit app, you can also use a "rav kav" which is a public transport card. You can buy these cards at various places including bus and train stations, and they can be topped up via an app on the phone or at ticket machines in various locations. You can also take the train from the airport to most major cities, including Tel Aviv, Netanya and Jerusalem. Train tickets can be purchased in cash or card by the ticket machine or desk at the train station. If you need any further help with this or have a question, please ask us, we're happy to help!

House Or Rental

AirBnb

This is probably the cheaper option when finding accommodation in Israel especially in the early summer months. We recommend staying in Tel Aviv close to the beach if you're coming for the week. Talk to us if you need location recommendations! Alternatively if you prefer to stay closer to the venue, Netanya is about a 15 minute drive by car/taxi.

House Or Rental

Friends or Family

Israel is a place of connections; time to speak to that long lost cousin or friend from school and ask to stay in their spare room! Not only will you get your own personal tour guide but you get to experience life as a local for the time you're here. If you want to be hosted by someone but have no connections, let us know and we'll help make it happen!

Hotel

Hotels in Tel Aviv or Netanya

If you're looking for a hotel to enjoy the comforts of being on vacation and having someone else make your meals and fold your towels, then there are some great hotels along the beach front of Tel Aviv - the Carlton, the Hilton, the Royal Beach, the Sheraton. There are also some great boutique hotels inside the city as well, the Brown Hotel, the Atlas Hotel, etc. There are many to choose from. In Netanya, we are less familiar with the best areas to stay but anywhere along the beachfront with the beautiful sea views are a win in our books!

Shuttle

Free Shuttle Bus from Tel Aviv to the Wedding and Return
