Christmas Village in Baltimore is a combination of an outdoor and indoor holiday market at West Shore Park at the Inner Harbor. The event is modeled after the traditional Christmas Markets in Germany like the famous Christkindl Market in Nuremberg. Vendors in wooden booths will sell traditional European food, sweets and drinks. You will also find great shopping opportunities with a large variety of international holiday gifts, ornaments, jewelry as well as high-quality arts and crafts.
For the BEST panoramic view of the city, take a quick walk to Federal Hill Park. Outside of the incredible view, it boasts an impressive history which you can read about during your visit. While you're in the area, we also recommend a visit to the American Visionary Arts Museum next door. In addition to the beautifully unique art installations, the gift shop is one of Baltimore's best kept secret. Check it out!
While baseball may be well out of season, it's still worth a visit to see the beautiful & historic Oriole Park at Camden Yards. If you're lucky, you may be able to wrangle Barry Gebler to provide a personal walking tour, complete with an exciting retelling of his big homerun catch during Cal Ripken's 2131 game.
If you're looking for a fun time in a convenient location, you can't go wrong with heading to hub of Fed Hill, which is about a mile away from the room block hotel. If weather permits, take a leisurely stroll through Riverside and check out the row homes on the way. If you're feeling brave, scooters/bikes are available for rent through various apps. And Ubers/Lyfts are always an option if you don't have a car! While we're partial to Baltimore, we of course have to give a nod to the beautiful District of Columbia which is a hop, skip and jump away (or Amtrak ride, to be more exact). There's no denying that DC is a magical place around the holidays, so feel free to hop a train/uber to the district and enjoy some festive sight seeing.
