Right. :) Tim and I chose to get married in a mini-ceremony (only our parents were present) on October 5th, 2020. We then rescheduled what was originally going to be our wedding + reception on May 5th 2021 to just a reception on September 3rd, 2021.
Sure! Please contact Emily and make sure to include who from your group is coming and whether you have any dietary restrictions/food allergies.
Yes! If you'd like to share your pictures, please do! Download the app, "The Guest" Search the Event Code: KITTSWEDDING Any pictures you take between the hours of 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM on September 3rd will be automatically added to the app album, but you can change your settings if you don't want automatic upload.
There are two parking lots at the farm--one at the front when you first enter, and one in the back. You can park in the front parking lot. If there isn't enough room, parking in the back is fine. However, another small wedding will be taking place on the same day in a different, larger barn, and those guests will be using the back parking lot.
If we had to name a dress code, we'll go with "semi-formal/dressy-casual". However, as the party is held on a working farm and is taking place so long after the actual wedding, it's fine to incorporate some casual elements as well (ie, Men, don't feel as if you have to wear a suit)! Of course, you can dress up as much as you want, but think of this as a more relaxed and less formal reception than if we were having it immediately after our wedding.
UPDATE: On 28Jun2021, Pennsylvania lifted the mask mandate for everyone (regardless of vaccination status). On 01Jun2021, Pennsylvania govt. removed all COVID restrictions, except for mask wearing (for anyone unvaccinated). (YAY!!!) If the weather is nice, we may have the large doors on either/one end of the barn open to allow air flow. In June 2021, the venue stated that they will: -Continue to use clear partitioning at the buffet -Continue to have staff serve appetizers (no self-serve app table) -NOT ask guests to show proof of vaccination -NOT ask/remind guests to wear masks -REMOVE former capacity restrictions The venue owner has told us that although food is "buffet style", they now will have servers behind the buffet so that guests aren't actually leaning over the food (this might be for the initial/first run through only; any subsequent/second trips are self-serve after everyone has been served once).
Per the CDC guidelines, masks are no longer needed if you are vaccinated, and Pennsylvania has lifted the mask mandate regardless of vaccination status. The venue will not be enforcing mask-wearing, nor will they be asking for proof of vaccination. The venue is leaving this up to the event hosts to act as they see fit. Our approach will be to let everyone choose the level of precautions they want to take based on their comfort level. Of course, you can wear a mask as much as you want, but we will not be going around reminding everyone to wear one, or asking that everyone socially distance themselves. I'm sure if you choose to wear a mask, people will see that as a cue that you are taking a more cautious approach. :) I will also have hand sanitizer and disposable masks handy if anyone wants to make use of them.
