Start your morning off right by popping in to one of the many bakeries selling traditional pastries such as aebleskivers, flodebollers, and stroopwafels. Olsen’s Danish Village Bakery will likely have a long line, but that’s because they are well known for their classic Danish pastries. Birkholm’s Bakery & Cafe is another popular spot selling kringles filled with almond paste, cardamom bread, and fruit-filled pastries.
Taste The Local Wine
Santa Barbara County is home to 300 wineries, which could take a lifetime to explore. Solvang has made it easy by offering more than 20 wine-tasting rooms. There’s no need to designate a driver when you can simply walk from shop to shop, sampling the wide range of wines grown in this region.

20 Reasons to Drive South to Santa Barbara
Santa Barbara is about a 40 min drive south from Solvang. It is absolutely majestic and well worth the visit if you haven't spent time there. It has a very special place in Zo and Spencer's relationship -- Zo and Kim (Spencer's mom) both went to school at UCSB and it's also where Spencer proposed to Zo.
Sideways Inn
Yes , the place from the movie, Sideways. "Fans of Sideways will immediately recognize the iconic "Windmill Inn" located in Buellton, CA. In the movie though, the motel that Jack and Miles stayed in was a budget property that wasn't really all that desirable. Up until a few years ago, that was still true. Thankfully the property was purchased by Highway West Vacations - known for buying affordable west coast properties and bringing them up to a level that would be considered chic while still maintaining an affordable price point."
