Yes, there is a very large dirt parking lot directly adjacent to the venue, with just a short walk up the hill to the lodge, ceremony site, and barn. There are also spaces for EV charging, and plugs for RV's.
No, camping is free and open to all! There is a small group of lean-to's in one area, but anyone is welcome to pitch a tent and camp anywhere in the meadow up from the barn. There is a large firepit next to the covered patio (where our cocktail hour will be held) that is also open for anyone's use.
Because it will be summer, and because Vermont is a very down-to-earth and no-frills kind of place, our dress code is casual. We want our guests to be comfortable! Because it can be quite humid here in the summer, we recommend thinner and airy clothing. That being said, our reception will be in an air-conditioned space to keep everyone most comfortable.
Technically we do have Uber and Lyft in Vermont; however, it is pretty unreliable and inconsistent, and will likely result in a lengthy wait. If you do go this route, it would be worth trying to book in advance (or even look at a taxi company), or else giving yourself a lot of time if you want to call a car. We recommend carpooling, and if you are in need of a ride please let us know and we can see if we can coordinate groups together. For those who don't want to worry about driving after the reception, camping on-site is freely available to all.
Yes - the lodge will be available with two large livingroom areas for hanging out, and many rooms with showers, just see Steven or Spencer and we will set you up somewhere. The bride will be getting ready upstairs in the livingroom and others are welcome to join here. The groom will be getting ready in the downstairs livingroom before the ceremony.
We will have snacks and beverages available and full use of the lodge kitchen and dining spaces for those staying both nights or hanging out before the wedding. The lodge provides coffee and tea in the breakfast area every morning. Please help yourself to what we have available, and if you'd like to bring some food or drink to store on-site, we should be able to make room. The closest place to get food would be about 10 minutes down the road in Richmond, where there are several restaurants and a grocery store.
Hopefully very sunny! July is warm, typically in the 80's, and humid into the night, and we do have ample mosquitoes out in the evenings here. We will have sunscreen and bug spray/repellant available for everyone to use if they would like it during the ceremony (which will be in an open outdoor area), cocktail hour, and reception.
