Palma is where we are recommending guests stay! It is such a fun, lively city and has so many options for just about every activity. Please see the "Hotels" portion of the "Travel" tab for the hotel options. Below are a few recommendations for activities, but the list is endless! -Have pastries at Can Joan de S'iago (ensaimadas are a Mallorcan pastry that are incredible!) -Tour the Musea d'art modern (8 euro per person) -Tour the Mallorca Cathedral (buy tickets online before) -Have lunch at Fera (make a reservation in advance) *note that this is high-end food and expensive, but worth it for the experience! *note for lunches and dinners, you will want to make reservations pretty far in advance as August is Europe's holiday season and there will be a lot of travelers on the island; I would recommend starting to make them about a month before the trip
Deia is a small, luxurious city on the western coast of the island of which was my favorite city we visited. Below are some recommendations and notes for visiting! *note that you should get to Deia (no later than 10am) to secure parking; about a 30 minute drive from Palma -Walk to Cala Deia *note that this about 2 miles roundtrip and has a few small ladders to climb over -Get breakfast at S'hortet -Grab drinks at the Belmond Hotel -Visit the Historic Cathedral -Grab drinks and lunch at Sa Fonda -Make a reservation for dinner at Nama -On the way to Deia is a small town named Valdemossa; Valdemossa has a ton of cute local shops of which is worth pulling over to walk down the main streets
Soller is town just past Deia with access to water-front Port de Soller! Below are a few recommendations for both. -Take the train from Palma to Soller, and then the trolley from Soller to Port de Soller (buy tickets ahead of time; if you decide to drive from Palma to Soller, you can buy a ticket just for the tram to Port de Soller as parking at PDS is very scarce. The tram tickets you can purchase once aboard the tram where euro and card is accepted.) -Have lunch at Ses Olivares in PDS -Visit Econvinyassa in Soller (a citrus farm where tickets need to be bought ahead of time)
