Question

What COVID precautions are you taking?

Answer

We are working closely with our venue to ensure the safety of our guests. We asks that all wedding guests avoid crowds, practice social distancing, and wash hands frequently in the days leading up to the wedding. Please refrain from being around any sick contacts. While we hope to be able to celebrate with all of our guests, if you are not feeling well or have a known/ suspected exposure, we ask that you please do not attend our celebration. While masks will not be mandated at the wedding, masks will be offered to all guests that choose to wear one. Individual sanitizers will be offered as well. We have also done our best to seat guests at tables, where they are familiar with the majority of people. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us!

Should I book my hotel from 12/17/21- 12/20/21?

Answer

The bride and groom do not anticipate arriving in Lynchburg, VA prior to 12/18/21 as there are no wedding events scheduled for that Friday (12/17/21). Therefore, no you do not need to book your hotel beginning 12/17/21. We understand that our room block shows this as an option (you must manually input what days you want to book, and then click UPDATE) and has caused some people confusion. If you have booked a room for 12/17/21 and no longer want it, please call your hotel to adjust this.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! We have reserved room blocks at 2 nearby hotels, and at the Virginian Hotel where the reception will be held. This information is on our "Travel" page. We advise that you reserve your hotel room as soon as possible as we expect rooms to book quickly at The Virginian.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! Parking at the ceremony (Old Pate Chapel) is plentiful. During the reception, parking is free at The Virginian Hotel for wedding guests. If staying overnight at the Virginian Hotel, parking is $10 in the garage. The Virginian Hotel also offers $10 valet parking for wedding guests (please make sure to state you are a Speller Wedding Guest, to ensure you are charged the discounted rate of $10)

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kids—we really do. However, this is an adult only affair. We want our wedding to be your night off!

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We are so excited to celebrate this day with our nearest and dearest, and are hoping to keep the guest list limited. Therefore, no plus ones are allowed unless clearly indicated on your official wedding invitation, that will be mailed Fall 2021.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Black Tie Attire (see Itinerary page for more information), please. Ladies, this does not limit you to black only, so feel free to let your style shine through. It may be cold, so don't hesitate to bring out the fur!
