It's Happening.

How much time do you have? Samantha and Patrick met through mutual friends in 2014 in Arlington, Virginia - Samantha was in her second year of physical therapy school, Patrick was living in Arlington and working in D.C. They hit it off right away, but Patrick moved to Austin, Texas not long after they met. The distance was hard, especially with a relationship that had barely gotten off the ground, but each of them knew there was something special in the other person. So, over the next 9 years they found themselves being drawn back to each other - but the timing was just never right. Then, in October 2022, two of their closest and dearest friends got married. Patrick was a groomsman and Samantha spoke during the ceremony. While each of them had their own dates (awkward), the tension between them was palpable. Once the weekend was over, Samantha made the first move to text Patrick. And the rest, as they say, is history - Samantha became an official Austinite in April of 2023. They got a Boston Terrier puppy, Remy, in December of 2023, and bought a house in May of 2024.

During their trip to Switzerland, they had plans (and you know how much Samantha loves a plan) to go up to a few different mountain towns via cable car. They got up to the first town and were both disappointed to find out that the beautiful mountains surrounding them were hidden by rain clouds. Patrick nervously started pacing around the deck of the vacant hostel restaurant deck, trying to find the perfect place to pop the question. Samantha was following him around, impatiently, asking to take the cable car back down because there was nothing to see (and we know she loves a good view). He finally turned to Samantha, reached into his pocket, got down on one knee, and said some beautiful words. He cried, she cried, it was perfection - and the best view that she didn't know she was looking for. The next day, the weather cooperated and they were able to go back to the same exact spot to get the perfect picture.
