Hurry Hurry We Are... Getting Married!

Setting: Labor Day Weekend Time: August 30th, 2024 Mission: Surprise Engagement Fresh off his fantasy football draft in Michigan, Anthony had a master plan: an epic surprise engagement. But he knew he couldn’t pull it off alone, so he enlisted a dream team of four of our closest friends: Holly, Marcella, Lucas, and Matt. The five of them hit the road together, flying from Michigan to Myrtle Beach, and then driving to Charleston. Coordinating logistics, hiding surprises, and somehow keeping everything a secret. All while, Katie had absolutely no idea, thanks to her friend Leighann, who was in full distraction mode back in Charleston. As Anthony and the crew rolled into town, the final phase kicked off: transforming Katie & Anthony’s apartment into the ultimate proposal setting. Marcella and Holly were on flower and candle duty, Lucas was on videography, and Matt couldn’t figure out where to put his water bottle. Then came the infamous text from Leighann: “hurry hurry we are” …that’s it. No context. No follow-up. Just chaos. 😅 Was she almost home? Were they out of time? The countdown was on...we panicked. Candles were flying, flowers were fluffed, animals were wrangled into their tiny tuxedos. In between the chaos, we cracked open a beer and ended up waiting... for an hour. lol Turns out, they did not need to “hurry hurry” after all. Eventually, Katie walked in to a quiet apartment glowing with candles and flowers, animals dressed to the nines, and Anthony waiting on one knee. No one else in sight. Just us, our fur babies, and the most perfect moment. A few minutes later, our friends burst through the door to surprise us and the celebration began. From that day on, “Hurry Hurry We Are… The Faccas.”
