Things To Do

Here are some attractions and food places I love! If you don't want to stay in KL, you can go visit: - Penang (need to fly, Penang Island is famous for the UNESCO World Heritage site at Georgetown, for its hawker food, and for its pristine beaches among other things) - Melaka (drivable, Malacca is a famous tourist destination with a rich cultural heritage, subsequent to the colonial rule of Portuguese, Dutch and British.) *Also very very good nyonya (cane sugar food) - Sabah or Kota Kinabalu (need to fly, great natural treasures which include the world-renowned Danum Valley Conservation Area and Tabin which is Sabah's largest wildlife reserve) - Random Island in Malaysia - Bangkok, Thailand (3 hours flight or less) - Singapore (1 hour flight, or 3 hours drive)
Batu Caves

Batu Caves

Batu Caves, Selangor 68100, Malaysia

Price: Free Location: 45min - 1hour away from the city Transport: Grab (uber), probably $10-20 Outfit: No shorts for woman The caves are one of the country's biggest tourist attractions and are a place of pilgrimage for Tamil Hindus. They are named for the Sungai Batu (Batu River), which flows nearby, and are located 7 miles (13 km) north of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. *There is a hidden wildlife cave at the top of the cave, which you have to pay to enter. I highly suggest it! It was super fun! Smells... great...

My parents and mine favor stuff tofu place! There are three tofu places together. But this one is the best one we have had.

Restaurant Loke Yun Ampang

Restaurant Loke Yun Ampang

158 Jalan Besar Ampang, Ampang, Selangor 68000, Malaysia

My favorite chicken rice!!! You have to order their special chicken which is a bit more pricey but two people are usually around $20 or less, which is a lot in Malaysia. You should be able to still get most meals for less than RM10, which is $2 ish.

Kuala Lumpur City Centre

Kuala Lumpur City Centre

Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Used to be the tallest building in the world... not anymore! But the mall is great! Especially multiple sky bridges to different malls! There is also a garden behind the mall!

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

168 Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur 55100, Malaysia

I would say this is the fanciest mall in KL. If you want to see any holidays decoration or go on some luxury splurge. Here is the place! Fyi, Malaysia's luxury items are cheaper due to no tax (maybe around $2-400 cheaper).

Merdeka Square

Merdeka Square

Jalan Raja, Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur 50050, Malaysia

My uncle might have a store there that still talks about the history of Malaysia. They also have one of the best dessert cafes! But the location might change, will update you in the future if interested.

Petaling Street Market

Petaling Street Market

Jalan Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur 50000, Malaysia

Chinatown! With lots of good food. Nighttime is very different! Lots of bars and hawker stalls open up for nighttime business. I forgot what street the bars are located on. sorry...

National Mosque of Malaysia

National Mosque of Malaysia

Jalan Perdana, Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur 50480, Malaysia

Women: no shorts or reveling clothing Welp, apparently no matter what you wear, they will give you the robe.

Little India Brickfields

Little India Brickfields

229 Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur 50470, Malaysia

This is where the currency exchange place is located!

阿罗街Alor Street

Jln Alor, Bukit Bintang, 50200 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur, 50200, Malaysia

Apparently, this is the place for Chinese hawker stalls like the one shown in Crazy Rich Asian (similar lol), which they actually film it in Malaysia...

Istana Negara

Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Royal Meseum

Central Market (Pasar Seni) (中央艺术坊)

Lot 3.04-3.06, 06, Jalan Hang Kasturi, City Centre, 50050 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Pasar Malam Taman Connaught

Jalan Cerdas, Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur 56000, Malaysia

This is a night market. It is one of the longest and best ones in Malaysia. Which is only open on Wednesdays.

Genting Highlands

Genting Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia

1-2 hours drive. Grab will drive you there. Biggest theme park and the only legal casino in Malaysia. Lots of American street food in the theme park. If you only staying in KL for a couple of days, I don't suggest going. Unless you plan to party with friends.

For all the days along the way
