The White House
Carson loves to terrorize the squirrels at the White House. The view is nice too!
Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool
Carson loves to walk around the reflecting pool and take in the amazing views of the Lincoln Memorial and the National Monument. A short walk on each side of the Lincoln Memorial, and you can check out the Vietnam and Korean War Memorials.
Tidal Basin
Carson loves to picnic at the Tidal Basin during Cherry Blossom season. Although, the cherry blossoms won't be in bloom in October, the Tidal Basin is alway beautiful with views of the Jefferson Memorial. Enjoy a long walk to see the Jefferson, FDR, and MLK Memorial or rent a paddle boat to catch a glimpse from the water. Don't forget sunscreen!
National Museum of African American History and Culture
Unfortunately, Carson is not allowed in the Smithsonian Museums but, she loves that Heather and Robby enjoy learning. She also loves that they are free! The National Museum of African American History and Culture is our favorite of the Smithsonians, but you can't go wrong with any of them. Check out the Hope Diamond in the Natural History Museum, the First Ladies' Dresses in the American History Museum, and Orville and Wilbur Wright’s 1903 Wright Flyer in the Air and Space Museum.
DC Improv Comedy Club
Carson loves when her mom and dad are laughing. Get tickets to a comedy show at DC Improv. It won't disappoint!
The Midlands Beer Garden
Carson's most favorite beer garden in the district is also walkable from our house. Drink some great brews while also enjoying firepits, nachos, dog beds, and even doggy ice cream.

Where we got engaged! One of our favorite restaurants in DC. The best French American cuisine!
Gypsy Kitchen DC
Amazing Mediterranean cuisine with a great vibe! It has a rooftop as well as two bars, so you can normally sit at the bar if you can't snag a reservation.

Another one of our favorite mediterraneans restaurants. And we love some Jose Andres!
Thip Khao Restaurant
A little out of the way if you are staying at the hotel, but this is a great Malaysian restaurant in our neighborhood. It has one best restaurants of DC many times.

One of our favorite beer gardens with a casual vibe and great bar food! If the weather is nice, this is great option for lunch or happy hour.

Great pizza. Great brunch!
Red Light Bar & Detroit Pizza
Best pizza in the city! Detroit style pizza, so prepare for a carb overload.
Caruso's Grocery
Best Italian in the city by far! A little trip from our hotel but accessible by metro.

Another great beer garden option near the hotel.
Lulu’s Wine Garden
An amazing wine garden near the hotel. Has a great back patio and good food too!
