Nothing like the besties from your 20s! Alicia and Ruth met where Ruth could usually be found in Portland - a small venue concert. After staying to successfully talk the bassist into going out for drinks with them the two were lifelong friends. Since the start of the Michael/Ruth saga, this bubbly PDX ray of sunshine has been both a cheerleader and therapist. Alicia and Ruth were there to tough love push each other along into the relationships with their now husbands, but always team ovaries before brovaries. It was at Alicia's apt where Ruth's phone was stolen to delete her dating profiles after meeting Michael again on the Prague trip.
Mathias Daube

Mathias and Michael go back to 2003 when they started their apprenticeship to become IT specialists. After finishing the 4-year apprenticeship, they continued to live/work in Zurich enjoying the Zurich food/drink scene. Michael is pretty sure he only got into the fancy restaurants because Mathias was dressed so sharp and stylishly. Hence Mathias became one of Michael's style guides if he ever needed to wear something other than an Amazee Hoodie. Today Mathias still lives in Zurich as an IT consultant.
Lindsay Macik

Fellow ATX transplant with a shared love of good wine and travel. Ruth and Lindsay met in early 2017 still getting their footing in Austin. Many Galentines, hikes and fateful wine country trips have been loved and harrowed together! Lindsay doesn't know a world without Ruth and Michael together. She's been there for the day-to-day first years of us sharing life in Austin as well as virtually via phone for the airstream/Irvington days. Lindsay is honorary god mom to the precious fur baby LadyBird.

Michelle and Michael met in the early 2000s through the Twitter community in Switzerland. They quickly realized they could be 'brother and sister from another mother'. Both share a deep interest in new technology and exploring the world around them. After Michelle moved to San Francisco for a job, Michael would visit exploring the city and tech scene in the bay area together. Michael served as Michelle's official wedding witness in SFO city hall. Today she lives with her husband in Boston, MA.

Ruth and Liz aka Brady have been best friends since they were 15 years old and quickly regress to this age when together. First meeting first week of freshman year of high school in RVA when the otherwise book-smart Brady confused Ruth with a tan blonde classmate, naturally. A regular of 4th of Julys spent in the NNK this is familiar turf for this bridesmaid. That friend that epitomizes a 'ride or die' bestie, it wouldn't be a wedding without Brady!

Boris and Michael met through the photography scene in Switzerland where Boris is still a professional photographer. Being a much better photographer, Michael learned a great deal from Boris regarding photography and how to have fun. Many days and hours spent photographing whatever came in front of their cameras - concerts, conferences, etc. Both being programmers, Boris joined Michael at Amazee Labs where they worked together for multiple years. Boris was with Michael when they took the 'American Girls' out to dinner during a one-night stop in Zurich.
