NEAREST AIRPORTS

Choose among Malpensa, Linate or Bergamo. Milano Malpensa is the closest airport to Lake Como. It is located outside of Milan, on the side closer to the lake, and is the easiest option to reach our destination. Milano Linate is located in Milan itself and is also well connected to Lake Como. It is also great if you want to see a bit of Milan first before traveling onwards to Lake Como. Bergamo Orio al Serio airport is another option, however it is the furthest and least connected to Como. Where possible, we highly recommend flying into either Malpensa or Linate.

FROM MILAN MALPENSA TO LAKE COMO

Catch Malpensa Express train to Saronno station run by Le Nord (leaves from lower level of Terminal). Change for Como Lago (end of line at Saronno). Tickets are sold at Malpensa just above the platforms, no need to book in advance. Timetable can be consulted at TreNord web site, use input Da: "Malpensa Aeroporto" A: "Como Lago". Como (Nord) Lago station is right across the waterfront, so if you're staying in Como, you've reached your destination. If you're staying in Cernobbio or Moltrasio you can catch bus C20 from outside the station. Bus schedules may be consulted at the SPT line web site. Google Maps is also quite good for Lake Como by bus. Alternatively, you can take the ferry. Cross the street to the left to the ferry ticket booth and catch a ferry or hydrofoil directly to destination town. Boat schedules can be found at the lake navigation web site. By taxi You can order a taxi in advance. It takes about 50 mins from Malpensa to Como.

FROM MILAN LINATE TO LAKE COMO

From Milano Linate you can get to Como by bus from the airport to Milano Centrale train station and then from Milano Centrale to Como S. Giovanni station. There are several bus companies with departures typically ever 30 minutes. Taking a taxi from Linate to Milan Central station typically costs €20-30. Check TrenItalia site for the timetable and the ticket prices to get to Como S. Giovanni. Tickets do not need to be booked in advance and can be purchased at the station.
