Flight
Vancouver is the closest international airport to Gibsons and the Sunshine Coast. It is only 30 minutes from the city by car or public transport, and roughly an hour from the ferry terminal that takes you to the Sunshine Coast.
Travel Note
There is no road to Gibsons - it is only accessible by boat or plane. BC Ferries provide regular service between Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) and the Sunshine Coast (Langdale). We recommend that you book your ferry early, because reservations sell out quickly. Bookings are usually available three months ahead of your departure date. You can reach the ferry terminals in Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast via public transport. Find more info at the links below. You can also fly from Downtown Vancouver to the Sunshine Coast. The flight takes you to Sechelt. It is a 20 minute drive or 35 minute bus from Gibsons. For those travelling in from out of town, feel free to connect with us if you have questions. Hotel
We are working on setting aside rooms at a discounted rate at a local hotel in Gibsons. Until then, we encourage you to check out AirBnB or VRBO for short term rental options.
Rental Car
We recommend considering a rental car for the Sunshine Coast, as pubic transportation is limited and taxis are hard to come by. There are no car rental agencies on the Sunshine Coast. If you are going to rent a car, we suggest picking it up from YVR because the airport has the best selection and hours available.
