It’s funny how you can inhabit the same spaces as someone for years and never truly see them. We spent four years at JMU walking the same quad, grabbing food at the same dining halls, and likely crossing paths a dozen times without ever knowing. It took a single night out in Arlington, surrounded by a rowdy group of mutual friends, for the timing to finally be right. What started as a casual introduction in the middle of a crowded bar quickly turned into a realization that our worlds had been overlapping all along. We may have missed each other on campus, but we haven’t left each other’s side since that night in Virginia.
