Question

How do I get from the airport to the party?

Answer

We will have a shuttle bus running throughout your stay to get you around the island. Rental cars are available but can be a bit stressful, Driving on the left side of the road firstly, then avoiding sheep, wild pigs, goats, chickens, snakes, birds and people all can add to a stressful visit. If you still want the thrill of driving yourself, we can provide you with rental car agents.

If I stay overnight in Nassau, where should I stay?

Answer

We have several favorite place we have stayed in. Luxurious or homestyle, there are many options. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with Jodi with your questions. Unfortunately, most flights to Long Island do require that you stay in Nassau overnight to catch an early flight to Long Island in the morning.

Taxi in Nassau, how much do they cost?

Answer

There is a price in Nassau set by the government for each type of car you get a ride from, be sure the driver does not try to charge you more.

Do I need a passport to get to the Bahamas

Answer

Yes you do! Get working on it now, it could take months and we want to see your beautiful faces in March!

If I want to stay closest to where the festivities are where should I book a room?

Answer

WinterHaven Inn would be your best bet for a vacation stay. Welcome dinner and reception will be on the property and they have a lovely restaurant and pool. Just down the dirt road (easy 2 min. walk) is a lovely bar and restaurant.

Can I use American money on the island?

Answer

American money is excepted all over the island (you will get Bahamian money back though). I believe there is one ATM on the island, it is far away and rarely works. All major credit cards are excepted almost everywhere. Note: there is not a bank on the island

What if I get sick while on the island?

Answer

There is a medical center on the island that can handle most minor issues. There is also an island doctor that is in residence several days during the week.

How can I make my stay the most enjoyable?

Answer

Simple things like sunscreen (we are very close to the equator and the sun is hotter), not wearing perfume (no seeums and other biting bugs are very attracted to sweet smells), and avoiding being outside immediately before sunrise and immediately after sunset without bug stray on
