Flight
Lisbon is surprisingly easy to get to from the US - there are direct flights from New York into the Lisbon Airport (LIS).
Travel Note
For guests of the wedding, accommodations are provided on site of the venue for two nights. Check in will begin at 4:00PM local time Wednesday, May 8th and check out is 12:00PM Friday, May 10th. Please let us know if you have any questions or if you choose to forgo the on-site accommodations.

At the airport (or wherever you choose to explore prior to the wedding) you can grab an Uber or taxi to take you to the venue about 45 minutes north of the airport. This should cost around €40-€50. To return to Lisbon, or extend your trip, we recommend scheduling a taxi or Uber to pick you up between 11AM - 12PM local time Friday May 9th. Options include: Ubers: Ubers are available - reserve in the app prior Taxis: Radio Taxis (Tel: 218119000, 969531660 or 919781000) is the largest company and have callers who speak English. Call ahead to book transportation Car Service: There are several in the area that are specific to airport transportation like transfeero.com where you can book cars or vans for transport.
Train
Once you land in LIS, this metro can take you to downtown Lisbon in 16 minutes. This train runs every 10 minutes and is about $1 - $7.

Once you land in LIS, this metro can take you to Cascais in about an hour and 20 minutes. This train runs every 10 minutes. There are transfers in this route - please see the link for the schedule and required metro changes. The total of this trip is about $5 - $20.
Hotel
If you choose to explore nearby Cascais before or after the wedding, we highly recommend the Grande Real, a gorgeous hotel where we stayed during our trip in 2022. There are many places to walk to and enjoy quickly from this hotel, including beautiful beaches. The free buffet breakfast is truly the best - you can start your day with a great breakfast and a mimosa or bloody mary!

This is the hotel we stayed at the night of our engagement. This beautiful hotel is in a central location in Lisbon with many sites to see and restaurants within a short walk.
Travel Note
The Lisbon Card includes access to metro, tram & train rides, and entrance into tourist sites. Prices start at 21 euros for a 24 hour pass, and time starts when you first use it! You can pick it up at various Welcome Centers in the city. We recommend it if you plan on doing some sightseeing in Lisbon before or after the wedding.
