August 2016-- Typical of the military lifestyle, Sophie's high school best friend, Josie, had an old friend move to Carlisle that she could not wait to see and introduce her to-- yep, it was Timmy! Timmy quickly became the neighborhood chauffeur, taking us all to school and back. On the first day of school, Sophie was the only one that drove home with him that day and instead of awkward small talk, we quickly got along. Every day we would drive together to and from school. January 2017-- After months of our families wondering if we were secretly dating, Sophie asked Timmy to go to the Sadie Hawkins dance at school-- he said yes of course. A few days later, Timmy finally asked Sophie on a date! Where to? Panera of course. Within the week we were official! August 2018-- Long distance began! Timmy was off to Manhattan, KS and Sophie to Raleigh, NC. 5 years of facetimes, short visits, and long goodbyes. We kept looking forward to the day we'd be in the same place. June 2023-- Timmy officially moved to Raleigh, joining Sophie in the post-grad working life- the happiest day! We have since explored the beaches and mountains, found "our places" in Raleigh and grown even closer (who knew that was possible after 6.5 years). December 2023-- Little did Sophie know that while she was sleeping in, Timmy went to breakfast with Mr. and Mrs. Moffatt and asked for their blessing to propose. They couldn't have been happier! June 2024-- While Sophie was meeting her new nephew in Georgia, Timmy took advantage of his opportunity alone to go look at diamonds in NY. The ring was mailed to Sophie's grandma's house during her neighborhood get-together on Saturday and they were so excited to be part of the surprise! July 20, 2024-- The happiest day ever!! Timmy secretly asked our friend, and photographer, to set up a photoshoot for us. Sophie was asked to help her shoot content for her social media and was more than happy to do it (A free photoshoot, why not)! Dodging torrential rain, we made it to Dorothea Dix park for our "free photoshoot." Everything began as normal, but as Sophie started leading Timmy one direction, he got down on one knee and popped the question! Shocked was an understatement-- the surprise was a success! After debriefing in the car, we decided to go to her grandmother's to share the good news. Little did Sophie know, he had set up a surprise engagement party with her mom and best friends from college. The most perfect way to end the night!
