Zach and Sophie have known each other for almost their entire lives. Their story began in kindergarten, long before either of them could spell the word “love,” let alone imagine who they’d one day marry! They grew up in the same schools, passed each other in the same hallways, and shared the same little world from childhood through high school. After homecoming, they found themselves at the same party, seeing each other not as the kids they once were but as the people they were becoming. They kept talking, kept seeing each other, and by early March of 2019 — after the winter dance — they officially began dating. A year later, they graduated high school and both moved to Columbia for college. It was a big transition, but it became a time where they truly learned who they were together. They shared new routines, new friendships, new goals, and the everyday moments that slowly build a life with someone. Through the changes, challenges, and celebrations, their relationship grew stronger in a way that felt steady and lasting. Years later, on New Year’s Eve of 2024, with the year ending and a new one about to begin, Zach asked Sophie to marry him! It was the perfect moment, marking the start of a chapter they had unknowingly been writing since kindergarten. What began as two five-year-olds sharing a classroom has turned into something neither of them could have predicted — a love that grew slowly, naturally, and beautifully over time.
