Nestor and Sophia met working at a restaurant in Austin, Texas. Their budding romance was timid at first, with Sophia scared to admit that she may have found her person, and Nestor staying headstrong in his beliefs and maybe giving Sophia a tough time as she came to terms with her love for him. After spending time together at her brother's wedding, the timidness was gone and they fell head over heels for one another. They dated and spent their honeymoon phase in Austin, exploring the city and working hard at their respective restaurants (Nestor had left the one that they first met at at this point). In the spring of 2025, Nestor proposed to Sophia at a magical castle-like Airbnb off of Lake Travis in Austin. They had a beautiful stay and then came back to their one bedroom apartment where Nestor had friends from out-of-town who flew in and in-town friends all huddled in their apartment to surprise Sophia with an engagement party. A few weeks after the excitement of the engagement, Sophia and Nestor decided to have a small ceremony in Austin with their immediate families, and got married at a courthouse on April 23rd, 2025. In the fall of 2025, Sophia took Nestor with her and moved back to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to be closer to family and start their life together there. Now, they are ecstatic to revisit their vows and reflect on a year plus of marriage, as they look forward to celebrating their love with their closest friends and family this upcoming fall.
