The Story Of Us

Once Upon A Time (Sort Of): It wasn’t exactly a fairy tale beginning. No glass slippers, no enchanted forest, but it was perfectly us. Though we never officially met in high school, we knew of each other from afar. Then, in the early fall of 2018, everything changed with a single, lighthearted Snapchat that Sophie sent to Jacob. That simple message sparked something unexpected and beautiful, a love story that would grow into forever.Between nervously waiting for text replies, long FaceTime calls from miles apart, spontaneous ice cream runs, fishing dates, and countless cozy movie nights, we found something real. Something lasting. We found each other. Growing Together: Our love has always felt like home. Over the years, we've built a life grounded in warmth, shaped by the little things that matter most. We've grown side by side through challenges, from getting to know each other while Jacob lived in Texas, to quarantining together during the pandemic, to supporting Sophie through the long journey of nursing school. Along the way, we’ve celebrated milestones big and small: high school and college graduations, landing our dream jobs, and all the beautiful wins in between. Most importantly, we've created a home filled with laughter, quiet joy, and a love that’s deeply rooted and truly contagious. From transforming Jacob’s grandma’s house into our own cozy space to welcoming our soul dog, Allie Jo, in late July of last year, the house Jacob grew up in has become the heart of our story. It’s where our little family began, where we’ve made memories, started traditions, and laid the foundation for a lifetime of love. The Yes That Changed Everything: The proposal was everything that defines us, simple, heartfelt, homey, and deeply personal. On Sophie’s 24th birthday, November 8th, 2024, her mom nervously dropped her off at home after a fun margarita date, thinking she was getting ready for a weekend getaway in Galena. But as Sophie walked up the sidewalk to the home she shared with Jacob, she saw him dressed up and waiting on the back porch, smiling. As she got closer, their pup Allie trotted out, wearing a scarf that read, “My Humans Are Getting Married! 🐾” Sophie was stunned. Then, in the quiet comfort of their backyard, Jacob got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Through happy tears, she said a joyful “Yes!” It wasn’t about a grand gesture, it was about the love they share in the little things: the backyard they call home, their sweet dog by their side, and the overwhelming sense of peace knowing they had found their forever in each other. Now We Celebrate: Our hearts are full as we look forward to celebrating with the people who have filled our lives with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Our wedding day isn’t just a celebration, it’s the reflection of the life we’ve built together. It’s a testament to the love and connection we’ve shared, a love that has been nurtured by all of you. Imagine chandeliers softly glowing above weathered wood tables, moody, romantic lighting casting a warm glow across the room, glasses clinking in celebration, happy tears, and laughter echoing through brick walls and industrial beams. The dance floor will be alive, filled with the energy of our favorite people, singing, laughing, and dancing the night away. We truly can’t wait to share this unforgettable evening with you, surrounded by the people who mean the most to us, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
