When a boy meets a girl, it can either be super boring or super interesting. Don't mean to play spoiler here, but it ended up being super fantastic (yes, this is Iain writing, hi mom!). Anyways, back to the hot goss. Iain and Sophia had overlapping communities at both Redeemer Presbyterian Church and the King's College. "Two overlapping communities?" You might say. Yes, that's why I said that. These two communities offered so many prospects, and yet after many meals during lunch breaks complaining about the Christian dating scene, Iain finally mustered up the courage to pursue the Swiss miss. With a bag of coffee and purple flowers (as Sophia so lovingly calls them) in hand, Iain offered Sophia a free meal, and the rest is history. (Well ... besides the part where she wrote a note telling him that she couldn't date a younger man, but the first date went so well, she had not choice but to throw it away like yesterday's sermon notes.) There are so many more tales about Sophia and Iain's journey — such as battling the challenges of long-distance relationships, family troubles, a world-shattering pandemic, conversations about Gossip Girl and how the Gospel rescues us from racial reconciliation, and Sophia grinding her way through Harvard — but why list them all here when you can give them a real-life phone call and talk to them yourself? Much love to whomever made it this far. Please keep Iain and Sophia in your prayers as they navigate this crazy world, powered only by the love of God, the example of the person of Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
