Pantropica (voorheen de Orchideeën Hoeve)
Pantropica is a beautiful indoor park with exotic plants, birds and other creatures. Perfect for kids and adults alike. It has a very immersive jungle feel. It's < 5min away by car from the venue!
Giethoorn
Great day trip! It's a 30 min drive from the venue. Very easy to rent boats or walk throughout the beautiful town.
FEBO Amsterdam - Leidsestraat
The OG Dutch fast food, Febo can be found all over the country! You use your card to pay at the wall next to the item you'd like and the panel opens. They have pretty decent chicken burgers (ask for extra sauce from the counter). Mainly they're a novelty, but they also serve as Bas' favorite food to complain about.
Rijksmuseum
The Rijksmuseum is a famous museum in Amsterdam and for good reason, it's a beautiful space and takes about three hours to cover. I particularly like their exhibition dedicated to the incredible ships of the Royal Dutch Trading co and their excavation of lost items found at sea :)
House of Rituals
RIght in the middle of the shopping district, this place is my absolute favorite. Weird, I know, but after a day of walking around, I just want to wash my hands, maybe have a nice little scrub and dry them with an actual towel. So, I come here! They also have a beautiful bar/restaurant.
Sampurna
This is a sitdown Indonesian restaurant and it's delicious! Located along the singel where the Flower market is.
Hans Egstorf
This place is so cute and has very good stroopwafel! Also a great place to pick up some souvenir cookies.
Café De Spuyt
Who would've thought you could find a great locals bar in the heart of the tourist district of Leidseplein! Great bar staff, extensive beer list.
Rudi’s Original Stroopwafels | Albert Cuyp Markt Amsterdam
Another great place for stroopwafel, but this one is located in the famous Albert Cuyp street market which is in De Pijp neighborhood (one of our favorites). Check them out and find lots of options for food, silly Dutch souvenirs and shopping.
Bakers & Roasters
This brunch place usually has a line out the door, so check their website for the waitlist/reservations. Food is excellent!
Bar Mokum
One of our favorite bars, the owners and bartenders are excellent and the theme of the bar is old Amsterdam with red lights and beautiful interior.
Foodbar 63 Graden
This place is where we go when we want to celebrate because THE FOOD. It's just..chef's kiss. They have an incredible 5 course dinner, but also offer a la carte.
Benji's nieuw west
Great place for a coffee and a bite to eat. Don't expect great service, but they do okay.
Lokaal van de Stad
This place has an AWESOME terrace, great local beer list and arguably good snacks. DON'T get the nachos though.
Warung Barokah
One of the Dutch versions of fast food, this isn't a sit down dinner restaurant, but their Indonesian food is excellent.
