Our former local cafe in Brooklyn with fabulous Italian coffee, snacks, and cocktails. To avoid disappointment, note that they are closed Monday Tuesday!
A gorgeous city park designed by the same architect as Central Park but much less touristy.
An absolute gem, both architecturally and culturally. Check out first Saturdays for late night programming. It's set on the border of Prospect Park so a good thing to follow up a visit to Un Posto and a walk in the park.
Andy's former back yard, a lively park in the heart of the village with a beautiful reproduction of the Arc de Triomphe
The neighborhood where Sophia and Phoebe lived together, home to some of the best South Asian food and lots of fabulous jewelry and accessories. Espresso 77 is a lovely cafe with coffee, snacks, and wine, Sophia recommends the veggie samosas with green sauce from Merit Kebab Palace, and the Ready Penny was Sophia and Phoebe's spot for Jamesons and all the local gossip (also our home away from home once things started re-opening in Covid times).
Sophia's favorite goodwill. Note that there are no change rooms, so be prepared to try on things over your clothes!
An iconic (and enormous) independent bookstore just south of Union Square.
Walk-in only hole in the wall French restaurant in the Lower East Side.
Cocktail bar recently voted the best new bar of 2024 with a beverage program headed by our beloved Theo!
Our favorite wine bar in NYC and the site of many of our celebrations, co-owned by the fabulous Marjie. Have the affogato with the butter and salt gelato.
A beautiful restaurant for old-world vibes and delicious food.
A jewel-box cocktail bar in Park Slope. The First Crush cocktail was our favorite!
Phoebe and Sophia stumbled upon this place once after visiting the photography museum Fotografsika and now it's in the regular rotation. Be sure to order orange wine and the adjaruli khachapuri.
A cozy natural wine bar with delicious Italian food.
Super cute restaurant and bar with small plates and a vintage-y vibe.
Cozy village dinner spot.
East Village Italian spot with hip ambiance without being annoying (who knew it was possible). Also visit the affiliated restaurant, Frank's (we always get them mixed up). Note, this place is cash only but there's an ATM on site.
Delicious drinks and small plates. Formerly across the street from Andy's place. The site of many dates and takeout deliveries for us.
A favorite late night spot for wine and cocktails with our friend (and skilled bartender) Mariah. The food is good but the kitchen closes well before the bar, fyi!
One of the only reasons to go to midtown! Serving kitsch and the best martinis, we always make a point of visiting whenever we are in the neighborhood.
One of Sophia and Phoebe's go-to cocktail bars. They recently added an upstairs space with live performances. Ask for the high priestess. It's no longer on the menu, but S+P always ask for it anyway.
An historic East Village dive bar with great music on Monday (blue grass) and Tuesday (trad jazz) nights. Tuesday's was our favorite!
Our local dive bar in Brooklyn, complete with functioning juke box and cranky bartenders.
Where Sophia and Andy met, and where Sophia used to work. A fabulous place to see live music.
Smalls' little sister, a lower key jazz bar across 7th avenue from Smalls.
A fantastic show in a unique venue. Check the website for tickets and event schedule.
One of Andy's old haunts.
A free stage for indie music acts. No guarantees how it will be, but the sets are short so you can see a few acts over a drink in an hour or two. We have heard some great performances here. It's also close to Lil Frankies if you are looking for dinner after.
A laid back spot for local music in Brooklyn. I think they post their schedule on instagram @333lounge
