The Harvest Moon is a grocery store stocked full of organic and clean ingredient options. It has artisnal olive oils and makeup and even Christmas decorations too. It's packed full of all kinds of options for you to browse and find. On top of all the goodies inside, we love shopping there because Adam's brother Andrew owns and runs the store! So swing by and check it out, and on your way into and out of the parking lot, you can see Adam's chiropractic office as they share a parking lot!
The Floyd Country Store has live music every weekend. The weekend of the wedding, they will have their jamboree Friday, November 14th from 6:30 pm - 10 pm. It's come and go, and you can enter the store for free, but to stay for the music, you will need to pay $10. On Saturday, November 15th, you can go and experience Americana Afternoons from 12 pm - 3 pm. This is a free event. We highly recommend you swing by, whether during a time of live music or not, as the country store is a really cool place with an ice cream/soda shop attached to it!
This is the coffee we drink every morning. They do a fantastic job roasting their beans, so we highly recommend grabbing a bag to take home with you! Their freshly made drinks are delicious and well worth the stop. We recommend swinging by Red Roosters, grabbing a beverage, and then heading up to downtown Floyd to do some shopping and seeing all the activities Floyd has to offer on a Friday afternoon or a Saturday/Sunday morning!
This store Sophia likes to frequent on a regular basis. There are so many live plants, it's hard to decide where to even start! The girls that work there have always been helpful to know what plant is right for the space it'll live in and how to best care for it! Around the corner from their shop, they also have a home store with a lot of cute things for your house. The whole place is very nicely curated and is a go-to for showing people the cool/cute small businesses in Floyd!
If you like a good thrift shop, check out Angels in the Attic! They have a huge selection inside, and there's even a furniture store down the street, right behind Adam's Chiropractic Office!
The Floyd Farmers Market runs from 9 am - 1 pm on Saturdays! They have good food, live music, and local artisans. It's a fun place to wander as all the good shops branch off from the farmers market, making walking around an easy and fun experience. The woman who runs the farmers market, Yasmina, is awesome. Tell her we sent you if you run into her!
One of our favorite shops to browse and admire is Phoenix Hardwoods. The furniture in here is handmade, and one-of-a-kind. There are photographs and artwork mixed throughout the store as well. It's located inside the old General Hardware store, making it an iconic and beautiful stop.
This local bookstore is great! It also has a coffee shop inside! The books are all throughout this old home, and the selections are eclectic and specially curated. There are spots with art supplies, puzzles, handmade cards, and more! Sophia enjoys walking up to the bookstore on a weekly basis to snag some coffee and browse their art supply section while chatting with her friend Katie that works there. Book and art lovers, definitely check this spot out!
If you are staying in an area called Meadows of Dan (or willing to drive about 20 minutes outside of Floyd), then this is a great spot to hit up! This is a chocolate factory with a storefront, so you know the chocolates are made in house! And for those that are big jelly bean fans, they have a massive wall of almost any flavor imaginable. Those with the sweetest of sweet tooths, hit this place up!
