Hotel
La Cotte Farm will be our home base for the celebration and the venue for our Welcome Drinks, Wedding, and the Day After Brunch. It’s conveniently located just two blocks from Franschhoek’s charming main street. We’ve arranged a private room block at La Cotte Farm. However, availability is limited and not guaranteed, so we highly recommend booking your accommodations as soon as possible. To reserve your stay, please email carla@lacottefarm.com and mention that you are part of our wedding group. For reference, Gavin & Sophia and their families will be staying in the Orchard Cottages for four nights, from April 12 through April 16. The Orchard Cottages, Forest Cottages, and the Private Villa are all wonderful options for couples, families, and solo guests. If you have any questions about accommodations, feel free to reach out to Carla or to us directly!
Flight
We recommend flying into Cape Town and spending time traveling before or after the wedding as this is one of our favorite places in the world (see "Things To Do" tab for ideas). Our wedding venue is an hour drive from the airport.
Travel Note
Uber is a widely used transportation option for all of South Africa. If you choose to utilize Ubers, expect most of your trips costing between $5 - $20 USD. An Uber Black from the Cape Town Airport to La Cotte Farm(our wedding venue) is approximately $55 USD. We highly recommend ordering Uber Blacks when you can as they are more reliable and cleaner.
Rental Car
More details to come…but this is a GREAT option for day trips such as visiting Boulders Beach and Kalk Bay. It’s a great option for airport pick up and drop offs as well! Keep an eye out for our updated list of chauffeur companies we recommend.
Rental Car
If you choose to rent a car for your stay, we recommend reserving a car to pick up at the Cape Town airport (please note they drive on the left side of the road). They have all the normal rental car options like Hertz and Avis.
Travel Note
Cape Town and Franschhoek are generally safe places to travel to and around. That being said, we do recommend taking safety precautions such as: don't walk at night, don't walk alone, don't wear flashy jewelry, etc....sadly all the things we recommend not doing in Hollywood or Venice Beach as well.
