Arriving In Milan

Our wedding will be held in the stunning Lake Como region, and the closest major airport is Milano Malpensa Airport (MXP) located approximately 32 miles from the town of Como. For most of our guests traveling from North America, major international airlines, including Air Canada, American, United and Lufthansa, offer flights to Milan. For those already traveling within Europe, affordable carriers like Ryanair or EasyJet provide more frequent and budget-friendly flights into Milan. From Milano Malpensa Airport, you can take a taxi or shuttle to Milan city center, where Milano Centrale Train Station is located. The trip typically takes around 40 minutes.

Getting from Milan to Lake Como

For guests arriving via Milano Malpensa Airport (MXP), there are several convenient and comfortable options for traveling to Lake Como. Option 1: Train via Milano Centrale Guests may take a taxi or airport shuttle from Malpensa to Milano Centrale, Milan’s primary train station (approximately 40 minutes). From there, direct regional trains to Como San Giovanni Station operate frequently, with a journey time of approximately 40 to 45 minutes. The train ride is both scenic and efficient, and tickets are typically priced between €5 and €6. This is a reliable and cost-effective choice for those comfortable navigating public transportation. Option 2: Direct Shuttle Services Alternatively, private or shared shuttle services are available from Malpensa Airport or central Milan directly to the town of Como. These services may be reserved in advance and are particularly well-suited for families, small groups, or guests traveling with luggage. Travel times range from 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic and pickup location. Option 3: Rent a car at the airport for a 1-1.5 hour scenic drive to Lake Como. Follow signs for the A9 highway towards Como. Arrival in Como Upon arrival at Como San Giovanni Station or a designated shuttle drop-off point, taxis are readily available to transport you to your accommodation. While most taxis accept credit and debit cards, we recommend carrying a small amount of cash in euros as a precaution. We encourage guests to consider these options for a smooth and enjoyable journey to Lake Como, as they offer both comfort and picturesque views leading into this special weekend.

Our wedding venue is located in the heart of Como, just minutes from the train station, local shops, lakeside restaurants, and a wide selection of charming accommodations. To help make your stay comfortable and enjoyable, our wedding planner has recommended the following hotels in the Como area. These options offer a range of styles, amenities, and price points to suit every guest: Hilton Lake Como This contemporary lakeside hotel features a rooftop infinity pool, a full-service wellness spa, and panoramic views of Lake Como. Located a short distance from the event venue, it provides an ideal setting for comfort, relaxation, and style. Palace Hotel An elegant and historic property in the city center, offering lake-view rooms and a charming waterfront restaurant. Its central location makes it perfect for exploring Como on foot. Hotel Villa Flori A beautifully restored 19th century villa situated on the western shore of Lake Como. It features lake-view rooms, a spa with sauna and Turkish bath, a rooftop terrace, a private dock, and an on-site restaurant. Please note: To ensure a smooth and stress-free experience on the wedding day, we kindly ask that all guests book accommodations within the town of Como. Staying outside of Como may lead to transportation challenges and could risk missing access to the venue, as all event-day logistics and group transportation will depart from the town center.
