We kindly recommend arriving in Como at least 1–2 days prior to the wedding weekend to allow time to settle in, recover from travel, and enjoy the charm of the lakefront town. It’s the perfect opportunity to turn our celebration into a relaxing getaway. Please reserve the dates of June 4–6, 2026, and plan to join us for all of the wedding weekend festivities. We can’t wait to celebrate with you in beautiful Lake Como!
We kindly ask that you RSVP by February 14, 2026. This will give us enough time to finalize vendor arrangements, head counts, travel and other important wedding details. Since we’re hosting our celebration abroad in Italy, a timely RSVP will also help us ensure everything is perfectly in place for your arrival!
Yes, a valid passport is required to enter Italy. If you're traveling from the U.S., you won’t need a visa as long as your stay is under 90 days. Just be sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates.
Thursday, June 4 That’s Amore Welcome Dinner Attire: Elegant Summer Cocktail Attire with Red Accents Women are invited to wear elegant red dresses, jumpsuits, or chic two-piece sets. Men should opt for tailored slacks with a button-down shirt or jacket, incorporating red through a shirt, tie, pocket square, or accessories. Full red looks are welcome, and subtle pops of red are equally encouraged. Think festive, stylish, and full of Italian summer spirit! Friday, June 5 Love at First Spritz Boat Cruise Attire: All White Cocktail Attire All-white attire is required, so bring your best white look! Women are encouraged to wear white cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, or two-piece sets in elegant, summery fabrics. Men should opt for white or ivory suits or dress trousers with a crisp white dress shirt. Blazers are strongly encouraged, and dress shoes or elevated loafers will complete the look. Think glamorous, playful, and perfectly suited for sipping spritzes on the lake under the summer sky. Saturday, June 6 The Steil Wedding Attire: Black Tie with Italian Flair Women are encouraged to wear floor-length gowns or elegant evening dresses, embracing bright, vibrant colors or pastels. To maintain the overall aesthetic of the bridal party, we kindly ask that white, blush, or soft peach tones not be worn by guests. Men are requested to wear a tuxedo with either a bow tie or a tie. The evening calls for timeless sophistication inspired by the elegance of an Italian villa setting.
As much as we love your children, we kindly ask that all wedding weekend events remain adults only (21 and over). We hope this provides a chance for our guests, especially parents, to unwind and enjoy a celebratory weekend in Lake Como.
Lake Como in June enjoys warm, sunny days with average highs in the mid-70s to low 80s Fahrenheit. We recommend bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, and light layers for cooler evenings by the lake.
In addition to your usual travel essentials, here are a few key items to bring for a comfortable and stress-free stay: Passport A valid passport is required to enter Italy. Make sure it’s not set to expire within six months of your travel dates. We also recommend keeping a digital copy saved securely. Outlet Adapter & Voltage Converter Italy uses Type C, F, and L plugs. A universal adapter is a must. If you plan to bring high-voltage items like hair tools, also pack a voltage converter to prevent damage. Euros in Cash Credit cards are widely accepted, but it’s helpful to have euros on hand for taxis, tips, and smaller local shops. To avoid high international ATM fees, consider ordering euros in advance from your bank. Comfortable Walking Shoes Como’s cobblestone streets and lakeside paths are beautiful but uneven. Stylish yet supportive shoes are your best friend here. Light Jacket or Wrap Even in early June, Lake Como evenings can be cool, especially by the water. A light layer will come in handy—particularly for boat rides or al fresco dinners. Wedding Attire Be sure to pack outfits for all wedding weekend events (cocktail attire, white party, formal wedding wear). Check the schedule for specific dress codes. Sunscreen & Sunglasses Italian sunshine can be strong in early summer. Protect your skin and eyes while strolling through town or enjoying the lake. Day Bag or Crossbody Purse Perfect for sightseeing, shopping, or excursions—choose something secure and easy to carry.
Anthony and I went back and forth on whether to celebrate our wedding stateside or host a destination celebration. Both would have been beautiful, but Lake Como holds a special place in both of our hearts. We each have meaningful ties and fond memories there from growing up, which made it feel like the perfect choice. Beyond that, we’ve been deeply inspired by Anthony’s grandparents, Richard and Charlotte Steil, whose 75 years of marriage have been a true testament to love, family, and a life well-traveled. When asked to name their favorite place in all their travels, they didn’t hesitate: Lake Como, Italy. It’s a place they’ve returned to not once or twice, but nine times over the course of their marriage. We can’t wait to share the magic of this special place with all of you!
