Becoming Us

Prequel

Ian is a 35 year old adventure-loving outdoors enthusiast. He basically IS Spiderman and will eat literally any type of candy. He's worked in management for.. ever. He grew up active in sports like soccer and predominantly gymnastics where he was an all American, nationally ranked gymnast (yes, he can still do the backflip.. among many other things..). He has two loving parents and a little sister he adores. He has a one eared two eyed whiny rusty other doggy eater named Chunk. He loves camping and whiskey and only has eyes for a certain blonde with too many personalities.. Alexia is a 27 year old pagan animal-loving hippie. She loves candles, chocolate, and anything that will come to her if called.. or chased.. She has been bartending for way too long and loves trying new things. Growing up, Lexi played softball, did drama club, academic bowl, and was the only cheerleader with black nail polish. She has two devoted parents and a few furry siblings. She has had two familiars, Kassie and Mouse, both cats she misses deeply. She loves rum and the earth and likes to be bossed around.. maybe by her boss... What could go Wrong?

The Stars Aligned

The Buffalo Chapters

They met in 2018. Ian was the manager at the restaurant (Buffalo Wild Wings.. unfortunately) Lexi started at right after moving to the city. They were friends first, and one thing led to another at a work Christmas party 6 months after she started.... YEAH. "So obviously we were not thinking of forever at the time, just a lot of chemistry and too much alcohol. But something clicked. My best friend and roommate Hannah shipped us so hard and pushed for me to go on the dates he asked me on ..One of which was a week long camping trip.. a month after we started dating.. If you can live in the woods with someone for a week and still like each other after, it's gonna last LET ME TELL YOU... but dancing under a lunar eclipse next to a lake certainly helped.. After that we decided to be exclusive and a month after that he came to my apartment one day and WOULDN'T LEAVE. Hannah was like, "Is he ever going to start paying bills or what?." So first I asked his dog to move in (poor thing had to be getting lonely), much to the dismay of mine and Hannah's two cats. But then after the dog I figured he could stay too and suddenly it was the three of us and a small zoo."

Writing Our Story

Filling The pages

Together they are super outdoorsy and adventurous. "We are big foodies and we love crafty cocktails, so our favorite thing is hopping around different places and trying the cuisine. We started a big garden and were loving our little life and making plans for the future.. until the pandemic hit. In April of 2020 we lost Hannah, and our relationship went through the toughest of challenges. She played such a big role in our family and losing her really darkened the already bleak world. But we had each other through it and slowly our adventures started again. We decided to move and bought a new house in 2021 and two months later I found out I was pregnant! Ian was already planning a proposal in Mexico but we had to cancel the trip. We ended up babymooning in Disney World where his original idea for the proposal went horribly wrong (it's a great story). But it ended up going so much better when he proposed in front of a Beauty and the Beast plant sculpture in France of Epcot July 4, 2022. It was perfect and very us. Three months later we gave birth to our beautiful wild flower, Daisy Hannah. They say the first year after becoming parents is the hardest in a couples lives so we know stepping into this marriage we are as strong as it gets."

It's a Fairytale

The Knight Loses His Horse

Ian's proposal story: "This is a story all about how... my proposal got flipped, turned upside down.. I was ready to propose and marry.. I wanted it to be perfect but no moment seemed right. So I thought once we had a house and a new beginning I could focus on getting this girl to marry me.. how wrong I was. We had a trip to Mexico planned the summer after we closed on our house. Her parents were coming and that would be perfect since she's so close to them. Beach, romantic. Her, bikini. Tacos, tequila. You get it. Then I found out I was going to be a father, which was absolutely everything. The woman I loved was giving me the child I had dreamed of... But no more Mexico. Here we go again. And thus began the search for a place to babymoon (propose).. but this is the most indecisive woman in the world. So she changes the trip five times. And I replan the proposal... five times. Im looking at rings while she suffers from pregnancy insomnia so I'm waiting for her to sleep, which she doesn't. Finally she decides on Disney. So begins my plans (for the millionth time). I booked a moonlit horse drawn carriage ride, a picnic on the ride, a pause in the gardens where I would propose with a bouquet of white flowers with a cinderella slipper in the middle holding her gorgeous ring. Room decorated upon arrival. I'm nervous AF driving down to Disney. Lexi is a planner and packed so carefully, trying to sneak everything into the car was a challenge. We finally arrive in the most magical place in the world, and where I was to secure my wife. But the pandemic took many things, including my fifth attempt at proposing. They wouldn't decorate the room, dinner plans fell through, their transportation wasn't staffed properly.... We never made it to that carriage ride. Arrived in the boat as it rode away.. She even commented "hey look at the horse ride, guess the people didn't show up." So as proposal number 3 gallops into the distance, I begin planning and thinking again of a way to give my princess the proposal she deserves. Again. And big surprise, when we arrived to the room there were the flowers with the slipper... in the room... had to play that one off. Pregnancy brain really helped me, she's usually not that clueless. Round four.. or was it six? What's more romantic than France? Epcot's France hopefully. I made it easy for myself. I told her today was a "yes" day. Anything she asked I'd say yes to. But if I asked her a question she had to say yes too... I know I'm a genius. So here we are walking around Epcot buying souvenirs because I couldn't say no. I was going to propose in front of the Eiffel Tower but I didn't realize it was on top of a building and not a possible spot. Sigh. But then I saw it. A Beauty and the Beast Topiary. That story has always been ours. Her earthy book-loving strong willed compassion. My sharp temper, muscles, and talking teapot. She ended up playing right into it, asking for these beauty and the beast coffee mugs signed by the characters. She was so excited. I let her get them while I dipped out trying to talk to a character about getting a video of me proposing (I knew she would want it.) I told her I wanted a photo in front of her favorite characters. And I got down on one knee (FINALLY).... and she kept trying to pose for the "photo" the woman was NOT taking. I gave her the speech of a lifetime and asked her to be my wife. And then I waited. and waited. and waited. and held the ring up higher. waiting. Apparently it was only a few seconds. Also apparently she never saw the ring because she was crying too hard. And finally after making me wait as long as I made her wait, she said yes! And we have an engraved slipper with the wrong date to memorialize it. She calls our love a story.. but she's not just a role or a character.. she's the entire plot. She's every page I want to read. She's my beginning and my ending. And I'm pretty sure I'm just the comic relief."

Our Happily Ever After

Two Stories Become One

"We love starting shows and never finishing them, starting a million house projects and never finishing them, and trying new food and always finishing it! Daisy is our entire world along with our three cats (Lilo, Butters, Jasmine) and our dog, Chunk. We live in Savannah, GA and adore visiting small eclectic cities in other states (Gatlinburg is our favorite). We love board games, kayaking and standing in the kitchen drinking and talking for hours. Five years and we have never run out of things to talk about (prolly because we talk over each other in excitement and have to repeat it 8 times). Our wedding venue reminds us so much of that first camping trip on the lake, slow dancing and falling in love. We can't wait to relive our first moments together and FINALLY combine our family as one. Our love isn't a river, it's an ocean. It's deep and endless and full of beautiful mystery we will spend the rest of our lives diving into. We invite you to join us in the next chapter of our story."
