For those of you in my family and amongst my friends who do not know Christian all that well, let me introduce him to you. My nickname for Christian is "wonderful" and he really is just that. When first meeting him, his warmth, joy, humor, and kind nature shine. Christian is an artist and began teaching art at a charter school here in Milwaukee the 2017-2018 school year. His art work is much like he is: deep, insightful, detailed, and playful. Christian also has a passion for Jesus and I admire his faith walk with the Lord more than any other man I know. Through his medical journey he also has come to possess a humility and endurance that I cherish. He truly is a solid, strong man with a heart of gold. I hit the jackpot!

Lynnae has a spirit that makes other people smile. The first time I heard Lynnae sing I was amazed at her voice! One of my favorite memories with Lynnae was the night we were watching the moon on the porch and she sang every song she knew about the moon. She has found a great calling and uses her gift to serve people as a Music Therapist at Village of Manor Park. She is especially skilled at working with adults who have dementia. Lynnae is an avid camper and a lover of all things outdoors. She knows the names of more plants, flowers, and mushrooms than any other person I know. Most importantly, she loves Jesus more than anything. She is patient and thoughtful beyond measure. Her kindness and genuine nature shine. I know that she will grow more wonderful with each year we are together.

We became fast friends after my move to Fond du Lac for my first job! Becky is a talented writer and volleyball player, and is passionate about serving on the board of Freedom Cry. I admire her heart of service and expressive, vibrant personality. We have created a strong bond through God talks and camping trips! We think and communicate incredibly similarly which makes Becky a perfect team mate in all the wedding planning. Most importantly, she is an amazing woman of God who I know I can depend on for encouragement and edification in my marriage.

Alicia and I have been friends since childhood and have watched each other walk through many phases in our lives. Truly a friendship that has stood the test of time and the many changes young women face as they grow up. Alicia is a gifted communicator and has a great understanding of others. She is one of those dear friends who can not only edify me, but is also an "iron sharpens iron" kind of friend. She is a new mother and a wonderful example to me in her marriage. Alicia is a friend I know I can forever rely on for sound, Christ centered wisdom. This is why she is my bridesmaid and the signing witness on my wedding documents!
Lauryn Patterson

My cousin, Lauryn and I have been good buddies for all our lives! So many fond memories with this young lady tromping through the woods, playing hide and seek at Grandmas, and overnights at each other's homes. I just have to have her by my side to add yet another fond memory together. Lauryn has a compassionate heart and is studying to be a nurse. She uses her love for children and caring heart for others on missions trips as well. This lovely lady is dear to my heart.

Gena is a dear friend. We formed our relationship through Bible study, girls nights, and edifying one another during our struggles. I've watched her heart transform as a Christian woman and as she fell in love with her husband. She was a most needed friend as I transitioned to living in a new city and struggled with growing pains as a new music therapist. We became very close in a very short period of time. Gena has a warm heart for people and puppies! I admire her strong spirit, yet chill vibes. I was so blessed to be a maid of honor at her wedding back in April 2017 and I am so blessed to have her be a part of mine!

Along with Steve Strupp, Shane was my first roommate at MIAD. From day one we were great friends. We loved the same bands, the same movies, and almost everyday we made each other cry from laughing. Shane has a zest for adventure as well as talent and drive that continue to inspire me. He is an all-around amazing human being. I am so honored to have him be my best man!

Yan is a man of mystery at first but anyone who gets to knows him finds out that he is incredibly generous and thoughtful. Countless times we have stayed up until 3am talking about life. He is the type of pal who has driven 90 minutes to bring me art supplies when I had surgery and brought my favorite food to my work when I had to work on Christmas. My pal from CCCM Church has been there through thick and thin.

Kind. Gentle. Smart. Passionate. Many who know Steve know that he truly has an aura. He emanates good vibes. As with Shane Dresch, Steve was my first college roommate at MIAD. Quick to listen and slow to speak, Steve is a friend that I greatly respect.

Paul and I have been friends from church for over 9 years. We share many interests and we both serve in the youth group. I can always rely on Paul for thoughtful, sound advice. He is also the first of my close friends to get married! I was honored to be a groomsmen in his wedding and I look forward to our friendship growing as we learn how to be godly Christian husbands for our wives.
