Our story

They say you find love when you’re least expecting it. It all started on Thanksgiving Eve of 2017. We were both out with our friends bar hopping when I saw Cody walk into the Palmerton Hotel. I remember leaning over to one of my friends and telling her how good he looked. She encouraged me to go talk to him. After migrating to the Sokol Hall, I finally got enough liquid courage to approach him. All I could manage to say when I did was, “I like your flannel, I have a similar one at home.” We talked for bit and he asked for my Snapchat. For the next couple of weeks we talked on and off through social media. We were both in college at the time and coming home for Christmas break soon. We met up at The Blue Mountain Pub, struck up a conversation, and spent the entire night laughing and flirting. When leaving, I asked him to meet me out in my car where we shared our first kiss. On December 23rd, 2017, Cody asked me to be his girlfriend. That year we decided to spend New Years Eve in Kutztown. I was so excited to introduce him to all of my college roommates and they approved! We all went to Shorty’s Bar to watch the ball drop. While we shared our first kiss of the new year, Cody told me he loved me for the first time. Fast forward to 6 months after my graduation from Kutztown, I showed up on his apartment doorstep with my bags in Bloomsburg and told him I was moving in. I just couldn’t stand to be away from him any longer. In May of 2019, we officially had our first apartment alone together. After Cody graduated we moved back to the area with our two fur children, Kovu and Meeko in tow. We were coming up on our 5 year anniversary and were in need of a small getaway to celebrate how far we had come in life and as a couple. Cody planned a romantic trip to the Leola Village in Lancaster. He took me to the village’s restaurant for an amazing dinner. After dinner, we went back to our hotel room where he FINALLY got down on one knee and asked me to marry him using my late grandmother’s engagement ring. It was the best and most special night of my life. We are so lucky to have found such a deep and meaningful love in each other and can’t wait to share it with all of you on our special day!
