We met at Adrian College in Spanish class. Collin sat in front of me and I told him funny dad jokes. Then, one day he asked me to go "study" with him. We met in a public spot inside one of the academic building to study Spanish for the final exam coming up. I actually wanted to study, but Collin spent the whole time talking to me and making small talk. I quickly realized no productive studying was going to happen, so I was polite and engaged in conversation. At the end, he asked if we could study again on another day. While I was hesitant, knowing I would not get much actual studying done, I planned to study on my own another time and arranged another study session with him. I thought that first study session was not useful at all. Turns out Collin thought it was a smashing success. - Jenna

I picked Jennifer up from her Mom’s house after she got done with work at karate. It was already almost 9pm and we were going to go to dinner. When I knocked on the door, Jennifer’s mom answered (come to find out while Jennifer hid around the corner eavesdropping). After telling her mom our plans and that I would have her home by curfew, we went to dinner at Aubree’s Pizzeria. When we walked in Jennifer picked up a random crayon that was on the floor while we were being led to the table. I was like “hmm interesting”. While there, we had awkward first date conversations like “what are your favorite colors?” And “what 5 words would you use to describe yourself?” All the questions were from Jennifer. We both sat stick straight at the dinner table and ate pizza VERY proper like. It turns out we were only doing it because the other person was, neither of us are super proper in that fashion. We were both really nervous. We then went to the movies and saw Zombie Land Double Tap even though Jennifer had never seen the first one. She still says that she enjoyed it though and we were the only ones in the theater. Even though it was awkward, I knew she was a great person who is also very beautiful so I wanted to go on another date. Overall, it was a great, but awkward first date and I am so glad it led to more. -Collin
