In August of 2023, Jacqueline went on a cruise with her parents and her best friend. Normally, Jacqueline vacationed with her parents only, but this time, bringing a friend allowed her to explore the ship more and as fate would have it, meet her soon to be husband. Denzel went on this same cruise attending with his family and his best friend. The first spotting happened in the boarding line when Jacqueline and her friend saw Denzel and his friend. This moment was no big deal, but would become memorable as following boarding they found themselves in an elevator with the two men not too long after. A few words were exchanged like “where are y’all from?” and they all went their separate ways. Turns out the universe wasn’t done with them yet. As Jacqueline and her friend toured the ship, they bumped into Denzel and his friend again. At this point, they all decided that they might as well exchange numbers as it’s not very often on such a large ship that you spot the same people more than once. As the day went and night came, Jacqueline, her family and friend were exploring the nightly activities on the ship. They walked by a bar where they saw for the fourth time, Denzel and his friend. In a moment of spontaneity Jacqueline and her friend decided to join them. This choice lead to a night of fun and laughter for the four and a moment for Jacqueline and Denzel to see all that they had in common. As the cruise continued, Jacqueline and her friend spent their days hanging out with Denzel and his friend, often enough for the two to realize there was somewhat of a spark. But just as all great vacations start, they must come to an end. On the final day at sea, Jacqueline and Denzel exchanged numbers both thinking they would just text a few times and that be it. But to their surprise, what started as texting, turned to FaceTime calls every day and then to flying back-and-forth between their homes of Kentucky and Virginia. It wasn’t much longer after the cruise that on Denzel’s second trip to Kentucky in March of 2024 he asked Jacqueline to be his girlfriend. After making long distance work for a while, despite the struggles, Jacqueline and Denzel decided that something had to change and that something was location. So Denzel decided in August of 2024 to move to Kentucky. This was their chance to see just how great of a connection the two shared…and just how great it was as in May of 2025 Denzel decided to ask Jacqueline for her hand in marriage! And now we’re here— proving that what happens on a cruise… might just be forever❤️
