Beth and Phill’s story began way back in 2012, when the two of them were teamed up to build a float for the CSU Homecoming Parade. After months of dates with hot wings and Fort Collins beer tastings, Phill asked Beth out over Horsetooth Reservoir in 2013. They eventually adopted Cooper, moved to Denver, and together have survived a myriad of adventures including winemaking, cycling, skiing, and quarantine. In 2021, they visited family in Michigan, but also set aside a day for themselves. After a morning kayak trip, wine tasting, and hunt for picnic supplies, the two of them stopped at the Woolsey Memorial Airfield to snack and paint watercolors. Phill tried very hard to trick Beth into standing up so that he could properly propose, but alas, Beth was not cooperative, and continued lounging and snacking. He eventually did propose, though, and of course she said yes! Beth and Phill will marry on September 23, 2023, just days after celebrating 10 years together.
