We first met during our Sophomore year of high school at Bishop Moore when we sat at the same lunch table. It wasn't until Senior year that we quickly became best friends - having 7 class period together out of 8 definitely helped! We realized we had a lot in common and started looking forward to our daily walks to class together. Something finally clicked for us in March of 2015 and we realized we were better together. We've been a dynamic duo ever since!

During their time together at UCF, Sonia had a dream to visit Washington, DC. She jokingly (not so jokingly) mentioned to Joe how romantic it would be to visit the city and have their proposal on the steps to the Lincoln Memorial at sunset. Joe kept this in the back of his mind and on September 18th of 2020, he made reservations for a rooftop dinner that overlooked the Washington DC Skyline. After dinner, and just around sunset, he recommended a leisurely stroll along the mall. Right as we got to the Lincoln Memorial and in front of the Reflection Pool, Joe got on one knee and proposed.
