Visiting Cleveland

The Wedding Website of Somy Thottathil and Amanjit Gill
Cleveland sits along Lake Erie, part of the world’s largest concentration of fresh water. This region was home to the Erie indigenous people until the Beaver Wars. The region was later claimed by the state of Connecticut, and became known as the Connecticut Western Reserve. It was sold to a private company to pay off debts after the Revolutionary War, and the city of Cleveland was founded on the mouth of the Cuyahoga River. Cleveland went on to become the largest city in the region - home to some of the nation's most powerful and influential industrialists, including John D. Rockefeller. Today, the city is peppered with museums, lush parks, historic Victorian mansions, small restaurants, and craft breweries. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is a 30-mile drive or paved bike ride from downtown, and the Flats are a stunning spot to relax with a beer and watch the sun set on Lake Erie. Come fall in love with Cleveland!
