The Carleton of Oak Park is located in Oak Park, IL - a subarb 20 minutes west of downtown Chicago. The hotel is an easy 15 min drive. 20 min train ride west of the wedding venue. If you are renting a car or driving your own car this hotel will be able to accomodate with a parking lot (as opposed to downtown which can be frusterating with a vehicle). Train
The train is an easy, inexpensive, stress-free, intuitive, and fun way to get around Chicago. At vending machines located at each stop, you can buy disposable tickets and reloadable Ventra Cards. Each individual trip costs $2.50 but you can also purchase unlimited rides with 1, 3, or 5 day passes. From either of the 2 airports you can take a train from the airport into downtown Chicago. O'Hare Airport - Blue Line Midway Airport - Orange Line The wedding venue has it's own stop at on the Green Line. If you are staying downtown or can take another train into downtown get on the Green Line and get off at the "Conservatory/Central Park Drive" stop.
House Or Rental
Many visitors are also considering using AirBnB to book a stay in Chicago for the wedding. Some of these reservations are in Uptown, the neighborhood Alan & Alyssa live in, but other good neighborhoods to look at include Lincoln Park, River North, and Lakeview (all accessible via the Red Line). Any neighborhoods along the Brown Line and north Blue Line should be fairly accessible as well.
