The MET and the MoMA are our favorite museums in the city. The MET is truly iconic (the steps alone are worth a visit!) & it's free (or make a small donation). The MoMA displays breathtakingly fresh art in the heart of midtown, be sure to stop at the famous gift shop, a NYC must-visit in its own right.
The New York Public Library is housed in one of the most iconic buildings in NYC. Designed in a Beaux-Arts style, this building stands in stark contrast to the glass and iron it surrounds. Roam the halls of books and enjoy the exhibits. Grab some lunch in the park and head over to 34th street to visit the Empire State Building!
Whether you're Uptown, Chinatown, Little Italy or the East Village, it's genuinely a challenge to pick just one place to eat in New York. Nearly 91 percent of restaurants in the Big Apple are non-chain restaurants. It almost makes you wish there were more hours in the day. Be sure to snag a reservation on Resy or OpenTable ahead of your stay!
Our wedding is near the Plaza hotel on the Upper East Side. There is plenty to do in UES, however these are our suggestions--visit the flagship Hermès and Louis Vuitton stores on Madison Ave, grab a coffee at Ralph's, or go to the MET to see Monet's Water Lilies.
