We cannot wait to see you on June 16th!

We met on Thursday, December 20th, 2018 at Trinity Bar. We went with the intention of spending time with friends, but left having hardly spoken a word to anybody else. Mike was recently back from a 3 week trip vacation, and Erica was meant to spend the night catching up with her girlfriends, but was too intrigued as to how a lanky boy from England could be quite so tan in the wintertime. We spoke about our love for travel, New York City, sports and all of the other breezy topics of conversation you get into when first meeting an interesting stranger. Two days later Mike flew home to the UK, a place where he would certainly not be getting any more tan. Before leaving, he asked Erica if she would want to meet for a drink when he got back. She responded that she happily would. Our first date, on December 30th, kicked off at a swanky cocktail bar in Brooklyn. After one drink Erica made the decision that we should instead traipse through dive bars and eat pizza. Our second date was on New Years Eve. Our third on New Year’s Day. Our fourth on January 4th. January 6th, another date. Again 2 days after that. This continued until January 20th, when Mike asked Erica to be his girlfriend. She, happily, said yes. As Mike would come to find to be less of a personality trait and more an irrefutable law of the universe, things do not sit idly in waiting when it comes to Erica. Through the ups and downs of the years since, we've built a foundation for our growing love for each other. We’ve celebrated birthdays, traveled, lived in various places, repaired two hips, and made some new friends. All the while sharing and exchanging passions, Mike has come to love Fire Island, and Erica “the boys” - an affectionate nickname given to Liverpool FC. On December 17th 2021, right outside of the bar where we first became acquainted, Mike got down on one knee to ask Erica a simple question. She again, of course, said yes. We are beyond excited to begin writing this next chapter of our lives together. We are thrilled and thankful for the people that will be there or thereabouts for those first few pages on our wedding day.
