We're Getting Married

If you let Stephanie tell it, they met at work in the most awkward interaction of her existence. Matt has never claimed to be the smoothest at social interactions. Needless to say, this is not a story of love at first sight. It is a story of two paths coming together as one. Despite seeing each other regularly at the office, Stephanie and Matt had only a few interactions for the next few years. Stephanie recalls some attempts Matt made to pester her at her desk. Matt recalls a random hug Stephanie gave him at an office Christmas party. Then, in 2020, both working from home, they started talking more than they had when they both worked in the same office. In the spring of 2021, Matt started helping Stephaine with her gardening projects. Over the next few months, feelings became harder to deny, and they were dating before the end of summer.

Anyone who knows Stephanie knows that she tends to plan things well in advance, covering every detail. Matt tends to plan things as they are happening, and it drives Stephanie nuts how things always seem to work out for him. Matt did try to plan out some of the finer details of the engagement; however, sometimes, best-laid plans go wrong. The ring received was a size too big. The forecast called for rain. Stephanie’s parents secretly came in from out of town, so changing the date was not an option. Amazon delivered a ring spacer, the sun came up just in time to dry up all the rain, and friends and family came together to make it the perfect day.

Matt still pesters Stephanie at her work desk, which is now conveniently next to the kitchen. The engagement was in July, and Stephanie planned out most of their wedding by October. They can’t wait to celebrate the love they have found with friends and Family this coming July.
