Forest and Sofia met on a backcountry ski trip up Blackmore Peak. Forest didn't know it was a date, but Sofia thought it might be. Forest thought it could be love when she could keep up on the skin track. After another ski trip to test the waters, Forest asked if Sofia would want to go on a real date "not in ski clothes." They've been together ever since-- navigating snowy peaks, steep couloirs, a torn ACL, and medical school. Here's to more adventures!

The morning began with pastries at their favorite bakery, Wild Crumb. In the Bridger Bowl parking lot they were greeted by a look-alike of Forest's childhood springer spaniel, Jelly. Sofia, Forest, and their friend Johnny set off on the skin track, headed for the ridge. Perched atop Hidden Gully, Sofia transitioned to downhill mode and began to wonder why the boys were taking so long. Just as she was putting on her helmet, Forest remarked that she "looked so cute" in her headband and should really go without the helmet for a quick photo. Before Sofia had time to think much of it, Forest knelt down and popped the question. Johnny captured it all on film!
