Flying to Penang

While connections to nearby international hubs like Kuala Lumpur (KUL) and Singapore (SIN) tend to be easier and cheaper to secure, we strongly recommend flying into Penang (PIA) for the final leg of your journey. The flight takes about 1 hour. Remember to ensure you have a valid passport well in advance of your trip!

No need to rent a car! Grab, the main ride-hailing operator in the country, is easy to use on your phone. Consider downloading the app and setting up your payment method before arriving. If you are sightseeing in George Town, many points of interest in the heritage city centre are within walking distance of each other. The weather is tropical and humid all year round, so dress comfortably and bring sun protection as needed.
